This fall our Park Passive project was a featured home on the AIA’s first-ever Explore Design Home Tour. Northwest Home and URBNLIVN offered a preview of the event. In Northwest Home’s preview, architect Marie Ljubojevic offered up her favorite details about the home:
“The bay window at the stair…[it] displays how PH walls can be manipulated to be varied and interesting. I think the perception is that PH walls should only have regular punch openings, but we’ve shown otherwise…A tree was removed from the site and the wood was milled to build the stairs and to wrap the interior bay wall…The reuse of the old tree reinforces (and reminds one of) the sustainable principles that guided the project as well as providing a unifying design thread.”
